What are we up to now?

Well the school year is over for Caleb...well half of a school year, but he loved it and that is what matters.  He cannot wait to go to school next year and attend 3 days of the week all day.  Who knows what trouble he will get into, but until then we will let him enjoy his summer break.  He ended the school year on a good note.  The 8 kids...yes 8, in his class had a Spring program where they got to choose what songs they wanted to sing for their parents. Some of the songs were: "Baby Bumble Bee" ABCs, there was a song where they used sticks to make noise, and that is all I remember right now.  At the end, right before they received their certificate, each kid was asked what they wanted to be when they grow up....Caleb's response was, "I want to be Spiderman!"  That would be really cool if that came true.

Here is the part when the teacher is asking Caleb, "What do you want to be when you grow up Caleb?"  He responds, "I want to be Spiderman!"

I did it mom!

As for Avery, we are coming up to where she will be 10 months old.  Hard to believe, but this girl is on the go.  Just this week we had to lower her crib matress because she decided it was time to meet her next milestone...standing.  Right now she does this assisted, but she is so darn strong that it comes natural for her to pull herself up.  The girl also loves to bounce.  This is her preperation towards walking...gotta build those quads.  Other than that, we are hoping that we are done with ear infections.  If not, we will have to go and see the ENT.  We are crossing our fingers and toes that we do not have to go.

We also are happy to announce that Nana is back from the Phillipines.  She was gone for 2 months visiting her homeland and relatives.  The kids were excited to see her when she returned.  They also were able to visit with Grandma Connie since she only lives 20 minutes away from Nana.  It was like Christmas all over again as the children enjoyed the gifts they received from Nana's trip which included tons of shells, candies, and for Caleb and Uncle Ken....Godzilla toys!

Hanging out with Nana!

Visiting with Grandma as well!

Nana and Avery!

After visiting with Nana for a couple of days, it was time to go home!

March for Babies!!!

Saturday, May 7, 2011...imagine waking up at 6 in the morning to get ready to go for a walk.  This is no ordinary walk.  This is a special day for Avery and all the little babies including Baby Anika and Sam.  I get all three of my rugrats ready, as they are going with me since daddy has to work.  The weather man said it is suppose to be in the 70s and sunny....and yes it was!  I had several of my friends and their children join me, Avery, Caleb, and McKayla to walk 3 miles in Fairmont, MN to show support for the March of Dimes/March for Babies.

Last week I attempted to do another walk with the Seitzer family, but the weather did not want to cooperate in the morning as it made it questionable if we should take the little ones out for a walk.

The walk was a workout for us mom's since there were many obstacles like hills (imagine 2 of my friends and their little ones in wagons), kids needing to stop and pick up dandelions for mom, and the inevitable, "Mom, I'm tired!"  But in the end we all did it and I will definately do it again every year to show my support for not only my Little Avery, but all the babies out their that need our love and support.

Very first obstacle...going up a steep hill!

The culprits that gave mom's a work out pulling them up a hill.

Enjoying the great weather!

Tara and her twins posing for the camera while Evelyn attempts to pick up dandelions for her mom.

The many stops along the way for Evelyn...she did this the whole walk!

Notice the effort Grace is putting in for her mom!  Good job Ursula!!!

During one of the stops, we were able to get bottled water, kettle corn, and graham cracker goldfish!
This is Ursula's daughters Evelyn and Grace!

This is one of my favorite pictures.  Here we have Aubrey pulling the wagon with her daughter, Ellie, while little Grace decides to help push them along.

I want to thank all of my friends for supporting the March of dimes by participating in the March for Babies Walk 2011.  Next year, get prepared because we have new ideas for the walk.  Until then, see you next year!
