The kids are doing really well. We attended McKayla's Xmas Concert. She did a wonderful job. The whole family was unable to go last year due to Avery needing surgery in Rochester. McKayla is slowly but surely becoming a pre-teen. I do not know what to think of it yet, but she is so into makeup, doing her hair, etc. It doesn't help that I am the same way as well, but the attitude is beginning to appear more each day. She is such a good helper though when it comes to watching her younger siblings. And yet again, when she gets into arguments with them, its as if a light switch went off and she becomes a whole different person. In less than 6 months, McKayla will be 10...yikes! McKayla still is in Girl Scouts and loves spending time with her friends.
Caleb, boy where do you start. He continues to love school, trains, dinosaurs, Godzilla, etc. He has been on a kick to be more of a "Big Boy!" He loves to do things with Shawn and makes sure us girls know that it is there time. Caleb is still comical as ever. He recently had a birthday...the big "5" in which he got to spend with family for the first time. Caleb loves art and could keep himself entertained if he was given a blank palette to work on.
Onto Avery!!! She hit the 18 month mark in January. Hard to believe!!! Avery is very independent and yet is still a mommy's girl. She is as active as can be. She runs, crawls, climbs, etc. When she knows she should not be doing something, she gives you a mischievious look and then runs away. She will dance and sing when the right tune is playing. Avery also likes to scold her two older siblings when they fight. Avery continues to amaze us knowing with what she has been through.
As for Shawn and I, well, nothing has really changed. Shawn will be graduating in September with his bachelors degree in Hospital Management. He has worked really hard typing papers and doing postings. We really have not had a "Winter" its been bland, but I was told today that we are suppose to get our first real big storm next week. The kids have gone sledding once. Unfortunately it was so windy, so they were unable to stay out for a long time. You would think I would have a ton to share, but I guess not. I will try my best to keep this blog updated!
